Bonfire

A multi-generational storytelling event held the first week of every month at the Chico Women's Club. Each month, a different theme is presented, and participants interpret that in any direction they choose with a 10-minute personal and true story. This project is hosted by Bonnie Pipkin, a local author, educator and merrymaker.

Chico Creative Reuse

Produces and hosts a mobile creative reuse center that features art made from upcycled materials, interactive activities and opportunities for art and maker resource exchange. Through our efforts, we aim to engage the public and community leaders in increasing dialogue, advocacy and action relating to climate mitigation through waste diversion and to provide a creative resource recovery model for our region.

Poetry Out Loud

Is a national arts education program that encourages the study of great poetry by offering free educational materials and a dynamic recitation competition for high school students across the country. This program helps students master public speaking skills, build self-confidence, and learn about literary history and contemporary life.

Nor-Cal Jazz Festival

Promotes all facets of jazz music throughout the Northern California region, creating greater visibility for both the music and performers and supporting youth jazz programs. The Nor-Cal Jazz Festival is a non-profit project in cooperation with Upstate Community Enhancement Foundation (Friends of the Arts), a 501c3 non-profit corporation (Tax Deductible Federal ID# 68-0483892).

Every Given Child

The Butte County Office of Education hosts this program spearheaded by the Kennedy Center in Washinton, DC. The Any Given Child program is designed to assist communities in strategically planning a high-quality arts education for every K–8 student using the resources of the school district, local government, business community, educational sector, and local arts community. Any Given Child: Butte County consists of Oroville City Elementary, Palermo Union Elementary, and Thermalito Union Elementary.

Maker Radio

A not-for-profit, independent radio station serving Chico, CA, acts as a hub for local artists and musicians, offering a platform where the unique flavors of our community can be shared and celebrated. Maker Radio offers local musicians a music industry ecosystem, including low-barrier-to-entry performance opportunities, radio airplay, live recording, and studio recording opportunities, high-quality video production, promotional material development, and more.

Friends of the Feather River

Supports the renovation and preservation of the historic Bath House Museum in the Feather River Nature Center and Native Plant Park in Oroville, CA. The center provides educational exhibits for all attendees, as well as school excursions and educational activities. And the park is open to the public, with beautiful flora, schulptures and amazing views of the Fearter River and beyond.
